Registering for a Test

To register for a test, follow these two steps: first, create a UAT-UK account; then, select and book your test using the Pearson VUE system. Please read the information below carefully. Once you have a booking, make sure you get to know our Test Day details!

Before You Begin

Are you a returning candidate?

If you sat the test last year, or made an account but did not sit, please refer to our information for returning candidates.

Do you need financial help?

If you are based in the UK and need assistance in covering the cost of the test, you may qualify for a UAT-UK Bursary. Please check the eligibility criteria and apply before you book a test. If your application is approved, your test will be free of charge when you book.

For the October 2026 and January 2027 test sittings, you can apply for a bursary from 1st June.

Require Access Arrangements?

If you need adjustments for your test, please request them under our Access Arrangements Policy. Be aware that you will need to do so before booking and separate deadlines apply.

You may need to provide a letter from your school. We will be accepting requests for access arrangements from June, so aim to apply before schools close. You can also apply over the summer and send us your school letter in September.

Registering and booking

1

Create a UAT-UK account (available in June)

Ready to get started? Set up your account here.
  • (i) Create a UAT-UK account.

Your full name must exactly match the ID you intend to present on Test Day.

Your personal details, such as your email, must match what you used on your UCAS application.

If you don’t have a UCAS ID yet, or you don’t know it, you can come back and add it later.

  • (ii) Apply for a Bursary or Access Arrangements BEFORE you select your test.

You will only be able to apply for a bursary or access arrangements if you have not yet selected or booked a test. Once your request has been reviewed, you will see any approved bursaries or access arrangements on your dashboard.

We cannot apply a bursary to a test you have already paid for, or add access arrangements to an existing booking.

Select your test(s), then book and pay.

  • (i) Add a Test Card

Once in your account, you need to select the test(s) and modules (if applicable) you wish to book. Refer to our course list and the relevant course pages on your universities’ website for more information on which test you need to sit.

These tests will then be automatically approved, and a test card will be added to your dashboard for each of the tests you have selected.

  • (ii) Book your test

    • Click on each card to book a test in the Pearson system. You will be able to see the available appointments at your preferred Test Centre(s).
    • Please be aware that if you have approved access arrangements, you may need to speak to a customer service adviser to do this. If this is the case, you will have received instructions when your arrangements were approved.
    • In the UK, if you can’t find a test within 40 miles of your postcode, please reach out to Pearson Customer Services. They will help you find the nearest available appointment. UK candidates in some remote areas may need to travel beyond this.
    • UAT-UK tests cost £78 for candidates in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
    • For candidates outside these areas, the fee is £133. The test fees depend on the Test Centre location, not your home or nationality.
